What a week! So excited for the wrap up of the year and buttoning up some projects both at work and personally. I'll be winding things down next week for the end of the year but please enjoy this goodness.

Star Wars - A Bad Lip Reading - you knew they had to do it and it delivers.
Ripley Doesn't Like Your Ableton Set - when Davis sent me this, we were both amazed that this clip has not been used in this manner more often. Brilliantly ridiculous.
Decision Wheel - an addendum to the latest episode of The Ultimate Funny. Good to see Seth Pomeroy acting his heart out.
Star Wars pun weather report - I mean, tis the season, right? Hope you like terrible puns because she's firing them off quite rapidly.
Siskel and Ebert defend Star Wars - proof that the news has always been heads arguing over trivial matters. The critic who lambasts special effects is entertaining tho, gotta give him that.
Sisters - #YouCanSeeThemBoth - fairly funny little featurette from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to remind you that there are other movies out there this weekend.
Nestor the long-eared Christmas donkey - a sweet little clip from a holiday donkey classic that I've never seen. I will fix that this year. Or maybe the RiffTrax version.
Matthew Wilder - "Break my Stride" - I've enjoyed this song for a long time but never stumbled into this absurd 80's performance before. Loving it.
Harley the Cockatoo - I can't stop watching this bird.

There's also this Jimmy Kimmel clip of Pranks with John Krasinski, it's some light hearted fun. And this Macaulay Culkin short film were he's sort of revisiting his Home Alone role - in a much darker manner.

Despite my best efforts, I have given in to Star Wars excitement. I'm not feeling overwhelmed or antsy at the prospect of the new film, I'm simply feeling truly optimistic that it might actually be good. Along with that feeling is a bit of softness on my part to partake in Star Wars Things. There's no end of it these days but sometimes it's actually worth a peek. For instance, this Star Wars in Real Life series from Thomas Dagg is great! Subtle bits of that universe woven into common scenes - sometimes so subtly that they're hard to catch.

Corporate Records

Corporate Records was a very small vinyl manufacturer that specialized in lathe cut, special edition, small runs of records on incredibly compelling material. They have ceased operations but their blog has quite a few examples of the creative surfaces they managed to make into records. The Concentric Record is something I've never seen before - a 7", a 10" and a 12" all cut as their own rings that can be merged together into one if you prefer. They also cut into X-Rays and Picture Disc material, both of which seemed to have turned out great. It's unfortunate that they don't operate anymore but at least they left a nice legacy.
